Blanchet, Cyrus (Rus)

Saint John, NB • Commissioned 1993

Rus is a volunteer at Trinity Anglican Church, where he provides pastoral care and support to shut-ins and those in hospital. Rus retired from ministry in the Arctic, most recently as Community Evangelist in Iqaluit. Before that he served in Cambridge Bay.

Providing leadership to the Parish of Tyendinaga. Formerly the Youth and Family Coordinator for the Anglican Diocese of Moosonee, and assistant in Wemindji. Much of Lisa’s ministry has involved children and youth, including several summers of leading VBS teams around the Maritimes and in Ontario.

BrantFrancis, Rod

Providing leadership to the Parish of Tyendinaga. Formerly served 10+ years in Moosonee – as Priest-in-Charge of Wemindji and, before that, Kasheshewan. Rod was also senior clergy (regional dean) on the eastern side of the Moosonee area. Prior to Moosonee, he and Lisa led the former congregation at St. James Broad Street, in Saint John, NB.

Brown, Mabel

Inuvik, NT • Commissioned 2014

Mabel is currently acting as the evangelist in charge of the Anglican Church in Inuvik. Providing leadership in the community, Mabel is also an Elder in the Gwich’in tribe. Mabel originally began training the early 2000s but had to stop because of health reasons. She is passionate about reaching the young people in the Western Arctic and seeing them freed from addiction.

Budd, Merv

Merv is the Senior Pastor at North Burlington Baptist Church as well as the Ontario Regional Director for the Forge Missional Training Network. He is a gifted and passionate evangelist who is helping to lead his congregation to reach beyond themselves. Merv is regularly sought after to teach in the area of missiology and evangelism.

Bunn, Richard

Toronto, ON • Commissioned 2003

Richard Bunn is a leader at the Scott Mission in Toronto. Much of Richard’s focus is on the men’s ministry side of the operation. He spends his time leading small groups, supporting men who are on the streets, and helping them overcome addictions, as well as helping coordinate the Sunday worship gathering at the Scott. Richard is married to Allie Lou, who was also trained and commissioned by Threshold.

Burke, Chris

Chris is a gifted musician and worship leader. He has recently partnered with two others to form We the Rescued — a worship team that is looking to help reach out those on Prince Edward Island. Prior to moving to Murray River, he was an area director for Youth Unlimited in Madoc, ON, crafting and leading programs to reach out to youth in the community.

Jen is currently helping to build up the children’s and youth ministries as the Children’s Ministry Coordinator at Center Point Church. Serving alongside her husband Chris, she has been active in youth ministry for many years.

Cavanaugh-Clark, Joan

Minden, ON • Commissioned 2017

Joan oversees the ministry in the Parish of Minden-Kinmount (Diocese of Toronto). She leads a congregation which has rapidly become more missional, and established a drop-in, a thrift store, and several opportunities for families who are outside the church to become reconnected and supported.

Clarke, Jonathan

Jonathan was appointed as the National Director of Threshold in 2018. He is working to increase the partnerships and ministry of TM while supporting our many evangelists across Canada. Formerly, Jonathan was the Pastor of Discipleship & Outreach at Richview Baptist Church. There he oversaw the outreach programs and community initiatives.

Corey, Wally

Wally has dedicated his life and ministry to helping people know Jesus. Most of his ministry has been in NB, serving in many of the Anglican churches in the area. Despite having recently suffered a major medical setback, Wally continues to support the ministry team at his church and throughout the area.

Edwards, David

David is the Bishop for the Diocese of Fredericton, serving, with his leadership team, to strengthen parishes throughout NB and enable them to be witnesses of Jesus Christ in their communities. Both prior to and following his ordination in 1995, David served in ministry in the Church of England until he moved to New Brunswick in 1998 to be Principal of Taylor College. 

Everest, Deb

Deb is gifted in children’s ministry as well as providing pastoral care to those in need. Currently, as the Warden of Lay Readers for Thunder Bay, she coordinates meetings and training for the area for those who serve as assistants in the Anglican churches in the Thunder Bay area. Deb also leads worship for churches who do not have a regular pastor on-site. 

Flam, Agnes (Aggie)

Eastmain, QC • Commissioned 1994

Aggie is a gifted child’s evangelist and musician. She has served in churches in a variety of denominations throughout the Maritimes, Manitoba, and British Columbia. Having recently completed training in animation, she has spent sometime working in the public sector with animation studios. In the spring of 2017, she relocated to Eastmain, QC where her position is twofold: to serve as pastor/incumbent for the Anglican Parish of St. Mark’s and as missioner in the isolated Cree community. Aggie hopes to learn the culture and language of the Cree people of James Bay. She desires to love the people and see the church grow in discipleship, to be a place for children and youth to journey in their faith in Christ, for adults to continue to grow in their faith, and for there to be great joy in their journey together.

Fleming, Linda

Saint John, NB • Commissioned 1979

Linda is an active volunteer in her community. She works with newcomers as they settle in Canada and assists them in learning English. A longtime volunteer of the Pregnancy Resource Centre, she educates moms and dads on healthy parenting skills and provides resources for families experiencing an unplanned pregnancy. Alongside Reed, she cares for those on the margins in Saint John.

Foty, Carol-Anne

Carol-Anne operates the office at Stonegate Ministry, an outreach and support organization for those in the Humber Bay/Etobicoke area; this includes securing resources and support from the community. Carol-Anne also provides some ministry and support through her local church Christ Church St. James.

Gaudreau, Darrin

Street Hope Peterborough was started in 2008 out of a need in the city for a service and outreach aimed at those in the most need within the community. This ministry seeks to share the spiritual hope of Christ with the people to which we are providing physical support; this work is not merely a social service, as there are many of those in the city. The heart of this work is to see lives changed by Christ and to watch people be transformed through the relationship that they have with Him. It is a friendship ministry that offers hope in times of hardship, and the relationships that are formed last for a lifetime.

Gowan, Jessica

Jessie is gifted in child and youth ministry. Most recently, she has taken on the role as Christian Youth Ministry Coordinator for St. Paul’s in Hampton, NB. Planning and organizing Christian education and social programs, Jessica acts as a spiritual caregiver for children in her church and community.

Haggstrom, Jason

Peace River, AB • Commissioned 1991

His ministry has taken him and his family across Canada, initially as a youth evangelist, preparing and leading events for churches to reach out to youth and kids in their community. Then, leading congregations in remote and rural areas. While in Newfoundland, Jason was ordained as a priest. Currently: Rector, Saint James Cathedral and Dean of the Diocese of Athabasca.

Hunt, Bonnie

From 2016 to 2018, Bonnie was appointed as the Dean of Community for Threshold Ministries. She oversaw the Missional Community and built connections between our staff, evangelists, and communities. Previously, she was the Director of Inner City Youth Ministry in Saint John, NB. Before that she served in youth ministry for many years across Canada.

Kantor, Debora

Deb is the Family/Youth Ministry Coordinator for the Parish of Cambridge and Waterborough. There she leads Messy Church and children and youth group programs. She builds relationships, challenges, and ministers to these children throughout the school year through home visits and youth activities.

Keeping, ED

Ed is currently serving at the hospital chaplain at the Health Science Centre & Janeway Children’s Hospital in St. John’s, NL. Previously, he was the rector at St. Philip’s Anglican Church. Having served in many areas across Newfoundland, Ed is gifted at raising up leaders, empowering them to serve in their community and mobilizing them for outreach. 

Langmaid, Rob

Fredericton, NB • Commissioned 2007

The minister at St. Margaret’s Anglican Church in the Skyline Acres area of Fredericton. The Church is focusing on building gospel centered relationships within the local community. He also serves as a reservist with the Canadian Armed Forces and chaplain for the 37th Combat Engineer Regiment, where he provides spiritual care and helps build spiritual resilience among the soldiers.

Lines, Christobel

Christobel is providing support and outreach in Athabasca. While officially retired, she is both active in reaching out in the community, making regular visits to the food banks, soup kitchen, schools, and hospitals. She is committed to being light in the area.

Macfarlane, David

David serves as the Director of National Initiatives for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association of Canada. He is a gifted speaker and teacher across Canada, challenging congregations to be evangelistic in nature and bring the Good News of Jesus to those in need.

Rob is pastoring several rural congregations in southeastern NB. He is a senior leader in that area, supporting other Anglican leaders and helping them to mobilize for mission and outreach.

McAuley, Eden

Moncton NB • Commissioned 2010

Eden is a community chaplain working with ex-offenders in Moncton, New Brunswick. Since 2008, Eden and his wife, Carolyn, have support individuals as they transition from the prison system back into the community. Eden walks through the reintegration process with ex-offenders, offering mental, emotional, and spiritual support.

McLean, Ron

Ron is the Priest-in-Charge at St. George’s Fairvalley. Before retiring to Severn, ON, he spent 6 ½ years in Yellowknife, NT, where he helped rebuild a congregation. Previous to that, Ron ministered at St. Jude’s Cathedral, Iqaluit, NU, for 5 ½ years following his training.

Fillion, Deanna

Deanna grew up in Yellowknife, NT, and is currently serving as the Youth Coordinator for the Diocese of the Arctic (based in Yellowknife). She loves Jesus and strives for surrendered and humbled obedience. Deanna has a heart for people (especially youth) to have a personal and thriving relationship with Jesus. She is training as an evangelist through Threshold School of Ministry.

Morris, Catherine

Powell River, BC • Commissioned 2006

Called to ministry in Powell River, BC, Catherine has dedicated much of her time to helping the people of the nearby First Nations community of Sliammon, a place filled with darkness, grief, addiction, and superstition. Catherine works toward her vision of revival and renewal in this region through sharing God’s love.

In January 2018 Catherine and some members of Kelly Creek Community Church founded an outreach ministry in Powell River called Soup4Souls. It is a monthly gathering centered around a hearty meal, their mandate is to love, listen and speak life. The vision is to move to weekly gatherings that include a time of worship, sharing the gospel, prayer, and discipleship — with the permission of the staff at the Community Resource Center who have generously allowed S4S to use their space.

Murkin, Catherine

Catherine works in the community of Kirkland Lake, ON, as the evangelist-in-charge. Working to spiritually engage with her community in non-threatening ways, Catherine pours much of her time into “The LivingRoom” drop-in centre. The LivingRoom, started in 2008, is a ministry for seniors, youth, and anyone in-between who wish to have a safe, fun, and open environment to socialize, learn, and relax. The LivingRoom is open weekly in Schumacher, Timmins, ON.

Noll, Philip & Kathryn

Caledonia, ON • Commissioned 1979 (Philip) & 1980 (Kathryn)

Philip and Kathryn minister together at Caledonia Congregational Church. Philip is the senior pastor involved in a a variety of ministries within the life of the church and community. Kathryn has always had a heart for children’s ministry, running a daycare and supporting the children’s ministry at the church. They are both involved with Key Bible Clubs which is a joint effort by several churches in the community reaching about 100 children each year in four different schools. 

Ollerhead, Winnie

St. Johns, NL • Commissioned 2010

Since her commissioning with Threshold in 2010, she has been doing mission work in Nain, the northernmost town in Labrador. There she provides support for the local pastoral staff who are living in the small, isolated town. Their ministry, called Shining Light Ministries, helps to restore the lives of broken people by bringing God’s hope and light into many situations. In her most recent trip to Nain in 2016, Winnie participated in many congregational and community initiatives including preaching, performing visitations, working with young mothers, helping families suffering from the loss of loved ones, and a community ice-fishing escapade.

For years David has been working with teams, inspiring teens and youth to grow and mature in their faith. He has worked in many regions across Canada, and is currently the Bishop of the Arctic. Formerly, he served as incumbent for the Church of the Ascension in Inuvik, NWT.

Rideout, Erin

Erin is the Director at Inner City Youth Ministries in Saint John. She and her team work in the community to offer programs and activities for youth and their families, giving them opportunities they may not otherwise have (i.e. balanced meals, summer camp sponsorship, mentorship, social and academic skills, etc.).

Barry is a part of a team reaching out to several rural communities, which are rapidly becoming de-churched. He is serving in the church, school and addiction recovery settings. Barry is a gifted pastor and teacher who is committed to seeing lives transformed. 

Sandberg, Rick

Rick is the Coordinating Chaplain at the Edmonton Young Offenders Centre. With over 30 years of ministry to youth at risk, he is committed to helping youth overcome the darkness that surrounds them and see the light of Christ. Before moving to Edmonton, Rick spent his time on the streets of Victoria, helping to launch Street Hope in that community.

Simons, Paul

Paul is the Prison Chaplain for the Keele Centre, coordinating ex-offender reintegration in the West and in downtown Toronto. He seeks to make a difference in Jesus’ name and is serving these folk, who are dearly loved by God, through engaging faith communities to come alongside and walk with this very vulnerable group of people. 

Simons, Michelle

Barrie, ON • Commissioned 1989

Michelle is currently serving as Director of Community Relations at the Barrie Food Bank. Through this ministry, she is loving people, giving compassion, and empowering people to change their circumstances and turn their lives around. The Barrie Food Bank has a large impact in the community, bridging the gap between the marginalized and others in the community to grow and work together. 

Smith, Bruce

Toronto, ON • Commissioned 1976

Bruce is currently leading and supporting those in the outreach team at Christ Church St. James. The church is active in reaching out to the thousands who live around them. Prior to this, Bruce was the National Director for this ministry, supporting our evangelists across the country.

Spear, Grahme

Carman, MB • Commissioned 2009

Grahme Spear was commissioned as an evangelist in 2009, following a long ministry as priest in the prairies. He is working with people in the margins, in Carmen, alongside the Friends Church (Mennonite Brethren). He is passionate about helping people know and grow in their relationship with Christ. 

Steeves, Rose

Miramichi, NB • Commissioned 2003

Rose is the coordinator and founder for the Hope Café. A servant in her community, she is drawing others to Christ. The Hope Café serves a hot meal, once a week, for people in the Miramichi who struggle to make ends meet.
